Agricultural Food Systems seeks to innovate systems for measuring food quality by providing pioneering technologies that increase value and build trust among agricultural food producers, processors and consumers. AFS’s flagship product, the TenderID, enables meat processors to measure tenderness in raw beef carcasses quickly and accurately on the production line.

Second Place – $10,000
Craftistas – John Brown University
Team Members: Zac Freeman, Troy Zellers, Camille Malkiewicz
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Mike Kennelley
Direct sales company Craftistas will make crafting a more feasible and desirable reality by selling craft kits complete with the materials and instructions.

GardenCraft – John Brown University

GardenCraft offers do-it-yourself hypertufa projects that allow people to discover and channel their imaginations.

cycleWood Solutions, LLC, offers a sustainable and profitable solution to conventional single-use plastic bags. The XyloBag is composed of a biodegradable lignin-based plastic and biodegrades in 150 days. The target market is the $4 billion U.S. plastic bag market.

TiFiber, LLC – University of Arkansas at Fayetteville

TiFiber is seeking investment to bring an innovative solution to industrial filtration. The innovative technology transforms titanium dioxide into nano fibersheets.

Peas and Cues – John Brown University

Peas and Cues is dedicated to providing parents with a fun, creative and comprehensive curriculum to teach their child a foreign language at home. Its unique foreign language curriculum will enable parents to better prepare their children for success in an increasingly global marketplace.

Jeska Shoe Company offers a cutting-edge high heel shoe concep. With both shoes and styles constantly evolving, the Jeska brand allows consumers to interchange both heels and accessories on a daily basis to appeal to a woman’s need for change.
