2006 Undergraduate Winners

First Place – $20,000
Precision AgSense – Harding University

Precision AgSense is an agricultural crop support service enables farmers to cut costs, conserve chemicals, and treat their fields with a level of precision never before possible.

Second Place – $10,000
Ag Solutions Corp. – John Brown University
Team Members: Shawn Gatton, Meghan G. Kelly, Melody Masis, Marilyn Pérez, Laura Redmond
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Delia Haak
AgSolutions Corporation goal is to help the state of Arkansas set the standard for recycling by using poultry litter as an alternate heating source. By converting poultry litter and corn into burnable pellets, AgSolutions Corporation will provide poultry growers with a more economical option for heating their poultry houses.

Third Place – $5,000
Sabor Latino – John Brown University
Team Members: Seth Hildbrant, Emily McGuire, Ellie Thoene, Claudia Salgado, Leidi Urbina
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Delia Haak
Sabor Latino will cater to the entertainment needs of the Hispanic population in Arkansas, by becoming the largest supplier of Spanish movies, books, and music to be found in a single location in Arkansas.

2006 Graduate Winners

First Place – $20,000
AgRobotics – University of Arkansas at Fayetteville
Team Members: Alin Dragos, Adi Masli, Jason McNabb
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Carol Reeves
Agrobotics will produce innovative precision agriculture equipment, increasing crop yields while simplifying farming.

Second Place – $10,000
Amiiga, LLC. – University of Arkansas at Fayetteville
Team Members: Tanya Fette, Leah Morton, Angelo Welihinda
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Carol Reeves
Amiiga will be a software development and consulting company that will focus on enabling faster, easier access to information, with the use of databases. Amiiga will provide a software package that will optimize data querying and improve efficiency.

Third Place – $5,000
Contür – University of Arkansas at Fayetteville
Team Members: Sarah Garton, Paul McDaniel, Paul Sproles
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Carol Reeves
Contür’s first product, the Safe ‘n’ Snug Changing Station, will make the experience of diaper changing more comfortable for babies and easier for caregivers.
